It hovers and the shadow goes up and down with it, also pulses with light. It's 1 tick away from being able to crouch and get underneath it. Teleports to an empty room at the moment, still deciding what to do next. Thx for your kind words TMM The shadow on the ground moves too.

That's very nice! Looks very neat. I like the shadow-y parts at the top. There will be a tomb to explore, right? It's not possible to scale ('de-stretch') the texture of the pillars in front of the Pyramid because of the sloped angles, right?

Video looks a bit darker than it is. Added some stuff since the video. As far as I know, you can only pan ceilings and floors, no stretching, and as far as my build skillz are concerned, they are stuck that way , lol & Thankyou! .... Yeahs still deciding on what to progress the whole thing into. I was thinking sacrificial chamber like in Aliens vs Predator with like 8 "beds" in a circle, then a room with some translucent water and maybe a snake battle with ninjas that keep dropping through holes in the ceiling... dunno

Whole room uses a shimmering duke3d texture. Pulses with blue light that seems to be coming from the sacred pool of water. Ninjas will drop down and jump forward from that streak of light back there. You'll also fight 2 mini snake bosses. Likely be the last room in the pyramid. Much will still be changed. Now to build more stuff inbetween the beginning and end

Don't worry TMM, I'll be sure to build more "tomb-like" stuff I don't think I'll have that portal lead to the water-room right away like that.

Have the Germans installed a generator at some point in the past? turns on, makes noise, turns on lights.

Made various tweaks to it since video, lightened it a bit, made the switch to turn it on gently pulse light until you flick it. Ran some more wiring.

Where you do you come up with all these effects?
Never seen them, although I haven't played many SW maps. Hope your making notes for an FAQ or Guide later!

Years with the unhealthy obsession wanting to be able to make good Sw maps. Lots of effect combinations seem to be possible in sw, many variants are available, It's gotten to the point were I likely should make a guide of my own. At the same time, all the documentation already exists, you just have to get creative in mashing it all together.
Admittedly I have become reasonably proficient in effect making atleast I think, I mean I've conquered many hurdles in learning the special effects side of things. More hurdles exist however. Not saying I'm any kind of guru on the subject. Creating good maps on the other hand is up for debate.
TMM had all this stuff nailed in waaaay less time.
I've always wanted to see more sw content so I guess I got fed up and tried to take matters into my own hands as when it comes to sw editing, I was pretty much alone on the subject. Maligned aka (unskilled) helped me to understand some key things, what is now years ago.
So, we'll see how this new add-on ends up, whether people think it's any fun to play. I'm hoping so, but I guess it's just different when your the one making the stuff. I go through phases where build is in the back of my mind and when I see stuff, I think I'd like to build it, at the same time I realize how long it takes and how scrupulous you have to be about it and it hurts my brain, lol. If any of that makes sense.

I think the next thing I'd like to build is some kind of car chase through woods and city/ bridges n such .. would be hard to pull off considering the road will have to be all one flat sector. Just an idea. I suppose you could switch cars at some point, like a small interlude or try to pull off some kind of teleport trickery.

The possibilities aren't endless, but still..close! I really like the screenshots you've posted in this thread. Keep up the good work

What happens when you cross a Futurama episode and Build. The left image is an overlay of the original episode screenshot. _

Zilla mainstream media .. titsubishi channel 10. Spent a few hours this morning and whipped this up, I'll add cameras and other stuff later... somehow. If I get really ambitious I'll try to make the floors reflective with ROR.. don't count on that though, lol. Looks like one of the technicians was playing Shadow Warrior (Gotta look close in the screenshot)

Worth updating anyone who is reading this. I am still interested in assisting with this. Quite a few months ago I got hired (At Cloud Imperium Games of all places!) and that has taken over most, if not all, of my free time. Work is finally beginning to ease a little and I'm finding a few hours here and there that are spare. This means I should be able to get back to mapping soon. I'll try and update next week with my progress and what I'm working on. From there maybe we can arrange a meeting of some kind maybe over Skype? Sorry for the EPIC wait.

Well, you know I'll read it atleast .. Glad to hear you've found gainful employment doing something you enjoy. Completion of the new add-on still seems to be a long way off so there's lots of time. Good to see you're still onboard with making a map for the new add-on. I don't have skype but we could use the Sw Chat on the website or just use the forum, up to you. I don't use steam very much but we could use that chat also.

Sounds good! I'll get planning some rough paper designs and throw them your way this weekend. If you have any suggestions or particular types of levels you'd like then let me know and I'll see what I can come up with. I'm in the UK so I'm not sure how different our times will be.

Well the layouts will be up to you but if you want to toss around ideas, I'm up for that. What I'm aiming for, for the most part is stock(original) level gameplay style. The amount of detail will be up to you. This means that the maps should function well if they are played multiplayer and co-op and also have all the skill levels implemented. We can tie the maps together later to see how they'd run together once in an episode. Other than that... let your imagination run wild. Keep in mind maps that exceed the original build limits won't work with the dos version of Sw... they will with Swp and Redux though but they end up with weird glitches like rockets and stuff just hitting walls and staying there( not exploding.) So, basically if a map will be bigger than the original build limits, cut the map in half and make it 2 maps

As this is my first map for Shadow Warrior I've decided to make a smallish map with room for expansion if I get time. The map should take around the same amount of time for the player to complete as the very first level in the Shareware campaign. I've drawn up a rough paper design of the map which might give you an inkling as to what it'll look like once it's done. The general idea here is that I intend to have the first part of the map completed with an opening for a third area leading onto more. Once I'm ready I can make the decision to finish it up as is or add more. My personal goals here are to simply get from start to finish on a map so it's scope is smaller than most. Quality over quantity. I'm taking a lot of inspiration from the original campaign in SW with this map. In particular Master Leeps temple, and the forest level. I'll post again once I have something interesting to share. All feedback is welcome.

Now there's a good idea, some pre-planning .. I tend to build "on the fly." Seem to be off to a good start with modelling your map after what I would consider the best maps in the game(1,3 & 4) I wish you luck with it and am excited to see what you come up with! In the mean time I'll toss up a map for all to try that will be part of things, this is part 2 of 2 "StarGate" styled maps. Skill levels are implemented, compatible with Single/WB and Co-op. Give it a whirl and let me know what ya's think. StarGate pt.2It has 2 .art files with it which you'll need to toss in your main Sw directory. Skill #3 was the intended difficulty and it should test the wits of Veterans, hehe.

I gave your map a quick try. Love the teleporting cookie! Haha thanks .. The original idea was that it would be scanned and then "rebuilt," it didn't come out exactly how I wanted it. For instance it doesn't turn off and the glass can be broken at the one end and you can actually grab both cookies, I basically got tired of screwing with it. The earthquake spot was another example of an effect not cooperating, when I test the map from build, the crack sinks and works properly but when I would play it normally the crack would already be there.. no idea why so I just said screw it lol. Another example of an effect not turning out exactly how I wanted it was the fish tank, once exploded the bubbles stay there. Kind of a build glitch that they don't go away because the sector that gets swapped out contains no bubbles. Lots of times if an effect works overall, I just leave it. I'm gonna take a break from building for awhile, kinda burning myself out on it. That said, if you have any questions while you're building, ask away.

For anybody around that cares; I finally found some motivation to do another map. Might be the ten year's 'no map' anniversary. The last map I did was The Abandoned factory, and that was for Blood. Map will be multiplayer, but I'll try and work in a single player mission thingy. Not sure when I'll finish but it's looking healthy.

A quick screenshot of a few hours work. I got the basic structure down. I've changed some of the tiles because lava doesn't work on a bridge It's based on a game called Culdcept (which is GREAT). I'll take a look at Mission-X, I will come up with the goods eventually
