I seem to have an issue over here, see, i cant get it to run in win XP home.. or any other XP for that matter. I got my hands on this game many years ago, just after beating duke3d until i got bored with it and i bought it, i really enjoyed it but at the time i couldn't play in networks (no internet connection and no SW loving friends around ) so it was solo-play only for me. One can only beat the game so many times in solo mode until they get bored and the game gets thrown into the box of antiques, lol. But i got bored the other day and dug through that box and found (much to my joy) the game again, the only problem was i couldn't get it to work in windows xp... back then i had a win98 machine that i just sent into dos-mode but i don't anymore :/ I've heard some rumors about a patch/fix/program that i can use to run it in winXP too,and I've read through and see that you talk about it here and there but i couldn't find a link. Do you know where i can get my hands on it? and the add-ons too? Preferably all 3 but any will do, lol. Oh and does that thing work for duke3d too? Thanks in advance

Sounds exactly like the kind of rush I've been looking for ;D By the way, did any of you guys delete the link to SW Central I left in Wikipedia for the Shadow Warrior entry like 2 years ago?

Hey Robman, remember me? Would be cool to play SW again. Anyone hear from Airbag and/or Sublime? Or Carnage for that matter? I'll check out yr site. I'll have to get SW again and set up, I guess, a virtual machine to play on.

I've been trying to get a hold of Nihilist, Sublime, and Airbag. But alas it's becoming quite a feat. Nemesis has been in contact recently and might be coming back as well. Wangfu, Robman, Picler, and I (amongst a few new schoolers) have been playing Shadow Warrior lately on a frontend called Meltdown. That can be downloaded at duke3donline.com - it supports Duke Nukem 3D, Blood, and both ports of Shadow Warrior (DOSbox and SWP). We mainly use SWP since it can run the game natively on XP, Vista, and 7. Also might want to check out the new SWcentral site swcentral.weebly.com - that Robman created recently and posted in another thread. Youtube also has some recent Wang Bang videos of Rob, Wangfu, and I playing.

I've been trying to get a hold of Nihilist, Sublime, and Airbag. As i recall, you and those guys constituted the top players. I was always getting schooled by you guys. Airbag keep trying to teach me stuff.

I've tried to setup Meltdown but when i test the UDP and TCP ports i get an error saying that the ports aren't open. Win Firewall indicates that the SW and Meltdown have access to all ports. Do I need to futz w/ my router and set open ports there?

Yeah, the specified ports have to be forwarded in your router setup in order to host a game and launch it.
8501 to host a game and 23513 for the game port.

Doing good! Life couldn't be any better right now. Still had the classic gaming bug in me for several years, though I didn't really make a comeback until late '09 from 2000 or when TEN decided to fold up. By the way, the new site has a real-time client on it if you want to chat there in the near future.
